A group of 39 B.Tech(CSE ) 5th semester students along with faculty members Dr. Inderjeet Kaur, Professor and Mr. Pronab Kumar Adhikari, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College, Ghaziabad visited Centre for e-Governance, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Electronics Niketan, 6 CGO Complex, Lodhi Road, New Delhi on 14 September 2022.
Another group of 38 B.Tech (CS, CSE-AIML, CSE-DS) 5th semester students along with faculty members Dr.Inderjeet Kaur, Professor, Mr. Anuj Kumar Dwivedi, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College, Ghaziabad visited Centre for e-Governance, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Electronics Niketan, 6 CGO Complex, Lodhi Road, New Delhi on 12 October 2022.
The goal of these industry visits was to present students with the different e-Governance initiatives undertaken by the Indian Government with the help of the National Informatics Centre, CDAC and other organisations, as well as the implementation roadmap for e-governance. Students were shown numerous apps, demonstrations, and presentations from active projects by the Centre of e-Governance (CeG). Additionally, it featured several social sector programmes in the areas of health and education. The CeG aims to consolidate the accomplishments made possible by the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP) as part of the “Awareness and Communication” activity of the NeGP.
Mr. Sunil Kumar, Project Manager, CeG, addressed the students and discussed about National e-Governance Plans (NeGP). NeGP takes a holistic view of e-Governance initiatives across the country, integrating them into a collective vision, a shared cause. The ultimate objective of NeGP is to bring public services closer home to citizens. He also talked about all mission mode projects (MMPs), which are implemented by Central Government, State government and both. The various projects implemented by Central Government are Banking, Central Excise & Customs, Income Tax (IT), Insurance, Passport, Pension, etc. Various State level projects are Agriculture, Commercial Taxes, e−District, Land Records (NLRMP), Municipalities, e-Panchayats, Road Transport, PDS, Education and Health. Various projects implemented in collaboration with Central Government and State Government are CSC, e-Biz, e-Courts, e-Procurement, and India Portal etc.
The following activities were organised by theCeG authorities during these industry visits:
1) On the account of Hindi Diwas (14 Sep 2022), an essay writing competition was held on the topic of Digital India. Winners were awarded prizes.
2) A Quiz competition based on Digital India and General Knowledge regarding technological advancements was conducted after the briefing.
For all the students, this visit was very beneficial and knowledgeable experience. They learnt about the e-Governance initiatives launched by Government of India.
