Awareness campaign for cleanliness and environment
An Awareness campaign for cleanliness and environment was conducted by the Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College, Ghaziabad under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan by college National Social Service students at Galand and Raghunathpur villages..
Today on 21.03.2024, the following programs were successfully organized under the visionary leadership of Dr. R.K Aggarwal, Director General, AKGEC by Dr. B. K. Sharma, Head of Department, MCA, Dr Sandeep Gupta, Assistant Professor, Applied Science and college students.
First of all the students inititated a cleanliness drive at Panchayat house of Galand village of Ghaziabad district in which the cooperation of the village head Mr.Sanjay Singh ji was unforgettable.The program moved ahead when students have started a rally on swachh bharat abhiyan through an awareness was created for cleanliness program under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan on the main road of Galand village.
Dr. B.K.Sharma and Dr. Sandeep Gupta along with college students successfully delivered the importance of environment conservation and cleanliness to the students up to primary school of class 5 at Galand village. The contribution was greatly appreciated by the teachers present in the school.
In primary school the students of college Vandit Mishra, Ashish Singh, Megha Jain, Muskan, Kaustubh, Prince, Nirmit and many more interacted with the children and discussed with them the importance of cleanliness in human life.
Moving the program forward, the program of book distribution was ensured in the primary school at Raghunathpur by college personalities including college students in the presence of school teachers and also college personnel and students shared the necessary information with the children for their bright future and successful life. After that the college students interacted with the school children and completed the program by distributing books. The contribution of the teachers present in the school was unforgettable.
Refugee Camp, Adarsh Nagar, Delhi
The college is also supporting to refugee camp people staring from making temporary school for their children’s with reading material (like note books, stationary boxes), Distribution of Jackets during winter season, proving sewing machine for Girls & women’s under the direction of Dr. R.K.Agarwal, Director General.

Kazipura village school, Ghaziabad:
Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College, Ghaziabad is continuously doing different social activities for our societies like helping people who are staying in refugee camp at Delhi, School children’s of village at Kazipura school, Ghaziabad and Five more villages adopted under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan(UBA) under the direction of Dr. R.K.Agarwal, Director General. The details of activities are:
The college is providing support to Kazipura school to enhance the school facilities like cleaning the school area, providing Gardner, making wash basin for handwash to school children’s, stone floor for washing utensils used for their midday meal, etc.
Dr. B.K. Sharma, head of the MCA department, and Dr. Simmi Khurana, Assistant Professor, of Ajay kumar Garg Engineering college Ghaziabad are regularly visiting Kazipura School and meeting to the school principal, teachers, and school children. Recently college has made the wash basin for handwash to school children’s and stone floor for washing utensils used for their midday meal because there was a problem with the pupils' handwashing and of the utensils, they used for their midday meal.
Prof. B.K.Sharma and Dr. Simmi khurana met to class 6th , 7th & 8th standard students and discussed about their study with emphasis on importance of education.
Unnat Bharat Abhiyaan (UBA) is a flagship program of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). It aims to link the Higher Education Institutions with a set of at least (5) villages, so that these institutions can contribute to the economic and social betterment of these village communities using their knowledge base.
Under the UBA, AKGEC has adopted five villages in Ghaziabad namely Raghunathpur, Sadat Nagar Ikla, Piplehda, Galand and Kalchhina. To meet the goals of UBA, the college has dedicated team of faculty, staff and students. The UBA team of college has visited all five villages for survey and have identified the specific problems faced by the villages such as unavailability of safe drinking water for school students, unavailability of school furniture, lack of computer knowledge and computers, insufficient and unhygienic toilets and non-awareness of government schemes. Based on the observations, the College has starting building plans to support these villages. As a first initative, the College has donated computers to the Kalchhina village school. Future plans include provision of furniture in the schools and awareness programs on solar energy system and bio-gas system as alternate fuel options.
Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Training Program
Under the aegis of the UBA program, the College organized training program at Galand Village, District Hapur, in collaboration with Meri Aawaz Suno national organization. The co-ordinator of the program at AKGEC enlightened the villagers on the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan and welcomed them to avail best benefits from the program.
More than 50 villagers including the Gram Pradhan attended the program. The training program included activities like benefits of strawberry, mushroom cultivation at home, benefits of medicinal trees and procedure to make organic compost from kitchen waste.
The training program was delivered by experienced trainers from the Meri Aawaz Suno group.
